The trade that everyone in the football universe knew was coming finally got done on Monday afternoon, as Aaron Rodgers was sent from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets for a bundle of draft picks.
Now that the dust has settled and Super Bowl odds have been adjusted, it’s time to look ahead and figure out just how Rodgers might do in his new home. Will A-Rod take flight with the Jets and snap what’s currently the NFL’s longest playoff drought? Could he possibly take this moribund franchise to the promised land for the first time since Super Bowl III? Or will Rodgers simply add to the long list of quarterback failures in New York?
Let’s dig through his NFL player prop future wagers and predict how Rodgers will fare in the Big Apple.

The New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins will be entering their Week 8 matchup in very different moods.
New England was on the right end of one of the biggest upsets of the year vs. the Bills while the Dolphins are spending the week being accused of being frauds after a disappointing loss to the Eagles.
This is the second matchup of the season between the teams with Miami winning the first game 24-17 in Week 2. The Dolphins are the biggest favorite on the NFL odds board, coming in as a 9.5-point favorite with the total sitting at 47.
Let’s take a look at what we’ve seen from these teams this season, how they match up, and my free NFL picks for Patriots vs. Dolphins on…
Severe winter weather in Western New York forced the NFL to postpone Sunday’s AFC Wild Card contest between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills to this afternoon. That decision, due to dangerous conditions in the Orchard Park area, flipped the sports betting industry upside down on Saturday.
Sportsbooks had to repost NFL odds for the game, which originally would’ve been played in extremely strong winds and snow. And many bettors who based their wagers on that winter weather were left out in the cold. Several operators’ house rules will keep those bets in action for today’s game, which won’t be as harshly impacted by the elements.
I dig into the reposted spread and Over/Under total for the Wild Card odds as well as give my be…
The Jacksonville Jaguars can expect a raucous welcome from Bills Mafia tonight when they battle Buffalo in primetime.
The team’s passionate fanbase is just one reason why the Bills are 16-3 at home over the last three seasons. Buffalo’s lights-out offense is another. Josh Allen & Co. rank second in scoring at 32.5 points per game, and haven’t skipped a beat despite losing Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis in the offseason.
It’s been an entirely different story for the Jags, who rank 27th in scoring and are coming off a pair of humbling losses to the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns. They’ll need a far better performance from fourth-year QB Trevor Lawrence tonight to stand a chance in a highly hostile environment.
There are a number of subsc…
The absence of fans did not cause footballers to doubt themselves but did make referees think twice, a study of behind-closed-doors football has found.
According to researchers from Reading University, playing matches without supporters had a minimal effect on the phenomenon of home advantage but it did correspond with officials showing fewer yellow cards to away teams.
In a paper on the effects of behind-closed-doors matches, researchers studied 6,481 games from before and after coronavirus lockdown. In the Premier League and Championship, games played in empty stadiums saw the proportion of home victories drop from 43.4% before the pandemic to 42.0%.

They’d done the hard part without him. Not just hard. Historically hard.
When the Canadian men sealed a place at the World Cup for the first time in a lifetime in March, the most remarkable part of this most remarkable journey was that it had been sealed without the country’s talisman. Alphonso Davies had missed the entirety of the second half of Concacaf qualification as John Herdman’s unlikely, unheralded men from the north topped the continent to book their spot in Qatar.
The party? That should have been the easy bit. Instead, Canada begin their first post-qualification window in Vancouver on Sunday in dire need of some Davies magic.

Your letters: Nick: A buddy of mine at work just told me something that changed my entire worldview. He claims that 100% of his bowel movements occur in two parts. Part 1: Pee standing up Part 2: Have a seat and do the dirty business My entire life I’ve just tackled both missions while sitting and thought nothing of it. Am I the weirdo here? You are not. This is uncommon behavior to me, but I didn’t want to have a redux of the whole sitting vs. standing debate, so I polled my fellow male staff members to see if any of them peed standing up before shitting: “What? No.” “That’s not really a thing.” “Yeah that seems deeply insane.” “I don’t think anyone does that.” “Drew, this is crazy-person behavior.” “It’s too early in the morning to di…

And we’re back! After a summer of international tournaments and preliminary rounds, the Champions League group stage is up next, following the completion of the draw earlier today in Monaco. As is tradition, now we can shift to figuring out who got boned by the draw, and who will have a cakewalk to the round of 16: Group F looks the toughest, with Barcelona, Inter, Borussia Dortmund, and Slavia Prague, the latter of which can either mope about getting drawn alongside three of Europe’s best teams, or embrace the prospect of watching Lionel Messi and Romelu Lukaku flatten them in memorable fashion. Defending champions Liverpool have a significantly easier group than last season, though they also have a repeat opponent in Napoli, who split the group stage series with the eventual champ…
This week’s excellent, creative touchdown celebration that wouldn’t have been possible without the NFL’s recent acceptance of fun came courtesy of Kansas City. The Chiefs took a 16-14 lead on the Dallas Cowboys with a Travis Kelce touchdown catch. Then, he and his teammates had a potato sack race. Just think: In previous years, this could’ve been 60 yards in penalties. [CBS] …
